Reasons why you should drink more water

Drinking the right amount of water per day is important for our health. All the cells in our body need water. We always tend to overlook its tremendous benefits which I will highlight below.
So that you know the importance of water in the body, checkout some of its functions:

  • Carries nutrients and oxygen into the body cell
  • Keeps the air in the lungs moist
  • Regulates body temperature
  • Aids  the liver in the detoxification process
  • Keeps our joints lubricated

For someone like me, drinking water is a challenge. I just don’t the taste. If you are like me, try adding a squeeze of lemon or adding slices of cucumber or berries.
We lose water every day by breathing, sweating, urinating and bowel movements. So, we need to replace the water lost for our bodies to function properly. When you don’t drink enough water, it leads to dehydration which can lead to serious health issues like irregular blood pressure and kidney problems. You can ask yourself these quick questions to know if you are:

  • Are you always tired?
  • Do you have migraine always?
  • Are you constipated?
  • Do you have muscle cramps?
  • Is your skin dry?
  • Is your urine dark yellow to orange in colour?
  • Are you thirsty?
  • Are you always tired?

You should at least drink 8 glasses of water per day to avoid dehydration as recommended by health practitioners.
